At its tenth meeting, the Conference of Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) decided to consider climate-related geo-engineering in relation to how it impacts the objectives of the CBD. As part of the process the CBD compiled relevant scientific information, including the views of indigenous and local communities and other stakeholders on the impacts of geo engineering techniques on biodiversity and associated social, economic and cultural considerations, and options on definitions and understandings of climate-related geo-engineering relevant to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Climate Frontlines assisted this process through a discussion forum on the topic. The report “Impacts of Climate-related Geoengineering on Biodiversity: Views and Experiences of Indigenous and Local Communities and Stakeholders” summarizes the outcomes of the online discussion.
